When records stay in sync, decisions move faster: Updates across Diligent Boards and Diligent Entities

A senior leader pings you for a clean view of the corporate structure before a call. A director needs an updated pack and wants confidence the supporting records are current. A filing-related change lands elsewhere, and suddenly you’re double-checking whether your entity master still reflects reality. ‌

That’s the job: keep the record accurate while decisions keep moving.

For Legal Ops, CoSecs, and GCs, the cost of drift is real: conflicting versions, repeat checks, and avoidable back-and-forth when certainty matters most. When records stay aligned and the right detail is easy to pull, teams spend less time reconciling and more time answering quickly and moving work forward with confidence. In this update, you’ll see what’s new across Diligent Boards and Diligent Entities including changes that keep records aligned across systems and help teams stay oriented day to day.

Here's what's new.

Diligent Entities: Less manual upkeep, cleaner records, faster answers

Entity data drifts when changes land in HR, finance, and legal systems first, and the entity master gets updated later. These updates keep records aligned across systems and make it easier to pull the right detail on demand, so you can respond with confidence when stakeholders ask, “Is this current?”

Inbound API: Keep entity data accurate, consistent, and connected automatically

When entity details live across HR, finance, legal, and governance systems, staying current often turns into repeat exports, spreadsheet patches, and manual rekeying. The Entities Inbound API lets your core systems sync changes directly with Diligent Entities, so company, people, and appointment updates don’t have to wait for the next upload cycle

What this means for GCs, CoSecs and legal ops:

  • One source of truth for entity and people records across systems, with fewer mismatches and fewer manual update cycles.
  • Less repeat work by automating creation and updates, backed by event history and audit trails so teams can see what changed, when and who made the change.
  • Cleaner change management when entities are added, directors change, or statuses update, so downstream workflows stay aligned.

How it works:

  • Your systems can read from Entities and send controlled updates into Entities using the public API.

Entities UI updates: Stay oriented across records, reminders, and Data Library ‌

When you’re working across large entity portfolios and constant reminders, small usability gaps add up quickly. These UI updates help you find the detail you need faster, read it in the format you expect, and stay on top of deadlines without bouncing between views.

What’s new:

  • Data Library detail, right in the modern UI Data Library details now appear in the modern experience, including summaries, custom fields, notes, and attachments, so you don’t have to switch views to get key context.
  • Formats that match your locale Locale-aware formatting applies dates, numbers, and currencies consistently across key pages, so global teams see familiar formats by default.
  • Reminders you can work through Improved search and filtering, plus clearer access cues, make it easier to triagewhat’s due , keep work moving, and avoid missed steps.

Diligent Boards: Fewer clicks, smoother file work, faster standardization

Board cycles move quickly, and the drag isn’t the big moments. It’s the repeat work: getting back to the right committee, managing documents across workflows, and rebuilding materials that should already exist. These updates help teams stay in the right context, work through documents with fewer interruptions, and standardize key materials without rebuilding every cycle.

Boards Admin: Return to the right committee automatically

Diligent Boards now remembers the last committee you expanded in multi-committee sites and reopens it when you return, so you don’t have to re-navigate just to get back to your day-to-day work.

What changes in practice:

  • You start in the right place when you come back to Current Books or Archived Books on multi-committee sites.
  • You spend less time re-clicking and re-orienting when you’re switching between committees throughout the day.
  • You keep your attention on the materials, not the navigation.

Diligent Data Room: Easier document setup, clearer sharing visibility, quicker actions

Diligent Data Room supports board-adjacent work like deals, diligence, audits, and major projects. These updates make everyday document work more straightforward: set up spaces with less repeat configuration, see sharing status at a glance, and take common actions more quickly.

What’s new:

  • Copy folders with permissions preserved, so recurring structures don’t require manual reconfiguration.
  • Quicker actions from table view, reducing extra steps for common tasks.
  • Clearer storage visibility and link status tracking, making it easier to confirm who has access to what.
  • Document summaries accessible from table view via the AI icon, where available.

Never start from scratch: New resources for D&O and policy workflows

When you’re supporting governance at scale, the hard part isn’t creating a document. It’s keeping language consistent, getting the right inputs from the right people, and rolling updates out without slowing the business down. The Education & Templates Library helps teams move faster by starting from a trusted baseline, so you spend less time building and more time reviewing, aligning, and moving decisions forward.

What’s new:

  • D&O questionnaires for Nasdaq and NYSE-listed companies, created in partnership with law firm Goodwin Proctor, so teams can kick off annual cycles with a strong starting point instead of rebuilding from scratch
  • Expanded compliance policy templates library, including compensation and benefits, performance reviews, media relations, and crisis management, to help teams standardize policy updates across the organization
  • More consistency across teams and regions, with reusable templates that help reduce one-off rewrites and make it easier to keep documentation aligned over time
